Sex Therapy

We all deserve a rich, meaningful sex life free from shame and unnecessary guilt.

We often end up with something very different

Every day we’re bombarded with impossibly fit bodies selling us everything from toothpaste, to automobiles to even better versions of our own bodies.

We grow up in faith communities hearing rigid, condemning, fear-based messages that left us suspicious of pleasure and estranged from our embodied, erotic core.

Or we learn from our sex-silent homes that sex is too dirty and shameful to even be spoken about so we’re left without language for expressing wants, needs, and limits.

We’re raised by a culture that is both sex-obsessed and sex-phobic

No wonder we struggle

No wonder we find ourselves drawn to people and relationships that are unsatisfying

No wonder we’re unable to freely enjoy sex or even our own bodies

No wonder we wonder if there’s something deeply wrong with us or that maybe we’re abnormal

Hi, I’m Jeremy.

I’m a marriage and family therapist and I’m passionate about helping people develop deep, connected relationships with themselves and their bodies. I enjoy helping adult individuals heal from sexual shame and old, self-limiting messages to forge a healthy, thriving sex life that is free, expansive, and in line with their deepest values. My style is relational, collaborative and engaged. You won’t be judged or shamed for what you choose to open up about in our sessions. The more I do this work, the more I see that while a lot of great work is being done in my field to help people heal from painful past sexual experience with less being done to help people heal toward a fully embodied sexuality.

  • In our work, we’ll explore values; what values are authentically yours? Which have been inherited or imposed?
  • You’ll learn how the nervous system works and how that impacts our experience of sex
  • We’ll work on learning how to pay attention to your body and its wisdom
  • We’ll work through the shame and past experiences that prevent you from being able to fully enjoy the body you inhabit

I work with adult individuals of any orientation or gender. My work is informed by attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and Somatic Experiencing.

There are no hands-on or intrusive procedures involved in sex therapy. And there is never physical contact between therapist and client. We will not do physical sexual coaching or exercises in the sessions, however I may recommend take-home exercises for practice.
